Watching a March Madness livestream at work is usually frowned upon, but some companies say it's better for their bottom line.

According to research, March Madness costs companies in the U.S. a total of $17.3 billion in companies around the country. But it may be money well spent for employers. They are hard at work at the Gemini Builds It factory in Elgin. But this being March Madness, basketball is on their brains. One monitor is devoted to work, the other keeping up with the game. And that's just fine with the boss.

The lunchroom was a busy place, too, with employees checking in on games. Anthony Abbott played college basketball at Louisville."It's something everyone's talking about around the office," said Alison Bastian, Gemini Builds It. "Smart companies are fighting to find ways to bring people together, to get people talking about something other than business and March Madness is perfect," said Andy Challenger, with Challenger Gray and Christmas.
