After April 28, Mirror's Edge and a bunch of Battlefield games will no longer be available for purchase.

Mirror's Edge was less perfect but scored points for trying something genuinely different as a first-person runner in a gleaming near-future city. And it largely succeeded: Despite being 15 years old, we said just last year that it remains"But nothing can escape the relentless grind of time—not even really good videogames.

The good news is that if you own these games, you'll still be able to play their campaigns offline. The trouble is that if you don't own them, as of April 28 you won't be able to, unless you score a key from some hopefully not-too-sketchy reseller.

But I am not a corporate bigwig, and so business decisions like this are apparently beyond my limited understanding of how the world works. Fortunately, if you don't own Mirror's Edge and think you might like to, now is a good time to pick it up: It's

I can still pirate them so I lose nothing

This is why we like blockchain backed games. This is the decade of digital ownership.

Sale as an object

GOGcom enter the chat😇

Never buy digital, lads 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yarr harr fiddle de dee ~

Oh no what should we do about this?

Theyre taking down da best Battlefield? Wtf!

It's understandable when a multiplayer game that came out ages ago gets taken off life support, but why the hell remove the single player ones?

GET THESE GAMES NOW

Just give me the rights for free 😁

Yikes

no

I’m confused by this - isn’t bad company 2 on pc using community hosted servers? Why can’t this continue after the server shutdown date?

Electronic Assholes

I'm glad mirrors edge isn't leaving stores, it's a great game. Battlefield games can burn.

Cringe

Which one is mirror’s edge? There are two of them… 🤔

why do they keep fucking with their old IPs? spore got like all of it's online features stripped on steam recently despite the fairly active playerbase, why are they obsessed with erasing games? money?

We seriously need bad company 3

sent it off with a giveaway

But you are still against games as NFTs I guess

NOOO! Say it ain't so! Mirror's Edge and Battlefield are iconic games that defined the FPS genre. Get them before they're gone forever gamerlife nostalgia

😈

AnarxixTV 😮

I guess they won’t mind when people pirate it then

Physical Digital

the first mirror's edge is A GAME, i recommend all you nerds buy it. it's sort of like sonic the hedgehog with a human. the sequel is triggity trash of which you can pass.

That’s why we need a better digital ownership model. Something that NFTs and blockchain can offer.

I had the best time of my life on mirror edge

'And a bunch of battlefield games'

Yarrharr fiddly dee the pirates life for me!

Game👏🏻preservation👏🏻is👏🏻essential👏🏻

Used copies are very plentiful nowadays so this really isn't going to be a problem at least to those of us still clinging to those old DVD ROM drives.

Okay, so Mirror's Edge is not being delisted now? Alrighty then.

I don't care if Satoru Iwata is rolling in his grave, I'm jailbreaking my 3ds to get those games I can't buy anymore

This makes no sense at all. I mean, shutting down the servers does make sense: pulling them from sale doesn't. Mirror's Edge and Bad Company 1/2 still have single player campaigns that are worth buying and playing.

🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

I wonder if they’ll bother renewing their copyright for Mirror’s Edge? I know there’s a sequel out there.

ME stays alive

So piracy will preserve them like forever ? 🏴‍☠️

Why “We want to look to the future” Okay how does selling these games on Steam affect that? Are they remaking them or something? Classics going away for no reason. Well guys Mirror’s Edge is $5 on steam get it while u can

good

Doesn't everyone under the sun already had or have these games? 😂

😵‍💫

Should have given 4-5 months time. I just hope they provide discounts to these games before they get delisted.

lilToastyToast

Pirate all or EA’s games. It’s the right thing to do

Bad company 2 has been unplayable for a while but why mirrors edge?

First removing the old one and then remastering them to sell for an increased price for a few new textures. They did the same with burnout paradise.

Time to get mirrors edge

stealing software is always morally correct

Man I saw mirror’s edge thinking there was a new game just to find out they’re getting rid of the game 😞

Mirror's edge is a great game , totally worth getting and playing before they remove it from sales. from what I seen it's on sales right now and get to keep it if you buy it on steam.

Physical Media Digital Media 100% all the time.

There is no excuse to do this.

Even on gamepass? As they are available via EA play seems daft as gamepass is where a lot of old classic games can just find that second life if someone fancies a change from the modern.

Game Preservation

ah yes the digital revolution

Mirror's Edge being delisted is weird since its single player only. I wonder if its a music licensing thing or something

nooooooooooooo

Pretty dumb to delist non multiplayer games.
