PETALING JAYA: The Finance Ministry will lodge a police report on false allegations made against the ministry’s officials regarding Yayasan AlBukhary’s tax exemption status.

MOF said there had been claims on social media alleging that former finance minister Lim Guan Eng had cancelled the tax exemption status for Yayasan Albukhary and the letter of cancellation was signed by a ministry official.

“The ministry has not cancelled the tax exemption approval given to Yayasan Albukhary whether through its former finance minister and/or officials,” it said in a statement on Thursday . It added that Yayasan Albukhary was set up as a non-profit organisation and its status has been approved under sub-section
