The Tribunal has been asked to grant interim relief to Econ Oil pending the outcome of a probe by the commission.Econ Oil and Energy, a former supplier of fuel oil to Eskom's power plants, has asked the Competition Tribunal to help get it off of the utility's blacklist, pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation by the Competition Commission.

As was argued in front of the tribunal in Pretoria on Monday, Econ Oil has been banned from supplying Eskom for 10 years, following allegations of corruption and unethical conduct against the company.
