Two dead in Nürburgring industry-pool crash.

The two dead were Luxembourg-based Goodyear employees performing a tire test in a Porsche on the Nordschleife on Wednesday morning. One of the victims has been, a 39-year-old test driver and racer. The other has not been identified publicly. The crash occurred at Tiergarten, a series of high-speed esses that come after the fast left-hand kink at the end of the long Döttinger Hohe straight. Both were thrown out of the car.

" A Porsche spokesperson also told the paper that "[a]t the moment we can only confirm that the vehicle involved in the accident is a model of our brand."Industry Pool is a large private test session regularly held for automakers and suppliers to develop their latest products. During any given Industry Pool session, you'll see a number of prototype cars from all sorts of companies lapping the Nordschleife at the same time. Industry Pool sessions are not open to the public.
