As the Edge Barbershop Trondheim, which opened two years ago in 2021, continues to attract rave reviews in Norway and Europe at large, its founder and CEO, Jeffter Ohene Kwaah, inevitably finds himsel

f frequently in the spotlight.

Indeed, the Ghanaian, born and raised in Norway, has not only grown an oak from an acorn with his barbering franchise; he has also redefined the concept of the modern barbering business with the Edge Barbershop Trondheim, occupying a space of 280 metres square and acclaimed as the biggest barbershop in Norway, by coupling it with a coffee lounge and grooming shop.

More importantly, he also established a barbering training institute in Oslo that is grooming barbers for the franchise and other barbershops in Norway and Europe. This, according to industry observers, has made the Edge Barbershop franchise influential in the business. Kwaah explains that, “We have a barbering school where we groom new barbers and set them up to the standards of the brand. We award certification of completion after you have completed your course, and then you are free to either stay or embark on your own journey. In addition, we have barbers applying to work with us who are more than willing to relocate to Norway from all over the world.”

The Barbershop is not the only exploit that Jeffter Ohene Kwaah has to his name. He made his name as a footballer when he played for the Black Starlets of Ghana in the Under-20 age grade competition in 2010 and also plied his trade with the Norwegian club Strindheim TF. He lived his childhood ambition for 10 years, from 2004 to 2014, before injuries cut short his dream. Rather than give up, he reinvented himself and continued his success streak as an entrepreneur.
