The Northern-Irishman has been a consistently excellent performer on the PGA Tour and has registered eleven top-10 finishes including a victory at the Scottish Open in July
These performances have netted the four-time major winner €11 million in prize money with his biggest single payday of the year coming with his second placed finish at the US Open. The prize for which was a staggering €1.8m.McIlroy added a healthy €900,000 to his 2023 earnings over the weekend when he finished fourth at the BMW Championship behind winner Viktor Hovland who claimed the eye-watering top prize of €3.3m.
McIlroy's earnings could receive a mega boost in a week's time as he heads to the FedEx Cup finale where a cheque for €16.5m dollars awaits the winner. Next week's event is known as the Tour Championship and, as reigning champion, will fancy his chances. He has won it three times and a fourth victory will put him ahead of Tiger Woods who has also won it three times. However, McIlroy won't have things easy as his previous FedEx Cup results this season means he will start on -7, three shots behind Scottie Scheffler.
