PETALING JAYA: The government has formed a national digital economy council which will help Putrajaya develop a vibrant digital economy ecosystem.

The council will be chaired by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, with the economy ministry serving as the chief secretariat.In a statement, economy minister Rafizi Ramli said the selection of the council members was done through an “open call”, with experts and professionals from various sectors offering themselves as candidates. “Thousands of applicants were vetted after they responded to the ministry’s invitation for industry practitioners to join the government’s committee,” he said.
