''If you take a game, we’ll play it with you, we’re approachable and want to be there for families and you don’t get that in other shops.'

The last empty unit at Arnold MarketPlace is now occupied. Dice & Balls is a gaming and entertainment unit that aims to bring people together.

Saphia and Zoe received the keys to the unit on July 18. Since then, they have created a community interest company and space with many board games, circus skills equipment, and local hand-made wooden crafts.Saphia, who is also an entertainer and works for the NHS said: “We haven’t sold a ton of stuff but so many people have come in. We’ve been showing kids how to play certain games, then the parents and it’s bringing people together.

Zoe added: “What’s nice is you’ve got four lads, teenagers sitting around and having fun, there was lots of laughter. We’re both very socially awkward people but here, you can sit with a game, where there’s rules that explain how the interaction will go, it’s something to talk about and everyone gets a turn.”

Zoe added: “We wanted the game shop to be for people who don’t consider themselves as people who would usually go into a game shop. We can’t compete with Amazon but here, we’re providing a place where you can come in and try games out, if you miss a piece to a game, we can get onto the suppliers too.”
