KLANG: Barbershops, goldsmiths and textile stores are now allowed to hire foreign workers.

"The matter was discussed at the Cabinet meeting today and a decision was made to reopen intake of foreign workers for the three sub-sectors.He said efforts will be made to solve the problems faced by the sectors critically affected by the shortage of workers.

Businesses in these three sub-sectors have been badly affected and many had to close down due to shortage of manpower. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced a partial approval of applications to hire foreign workers for barbershops as well as for textile and jewellery stores on Monday.
