In an email, Carroll ISD said the community members collaborated on their own to develop the proposal. If adopted, the program would be developed and managed by the district’s curriculum department with input from an advisory committee.“There are many steps involved to initiate such a program, and it is in the preliminary stage at this time,” the email said. “We would love to offer this opportunity to our students should we be able to move forward with this academy.

But statements the men previously made drew immediate attention from some in Southlake, who argue the men should not have input in district programs. In posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, Batsalkin has said Pride Month is a far-left campaign to sexualize children, people who identify themselves by pronouns are mentally challenged, and those who wear face masks are morons. He has also shared racist and sexist content about Vice President Kamala Harris. In a post from June, Batsalkin suggested a return to traditional family values and included a definition of a breadwinning father, homemaking mother and biological children.
