Fisker plans to produce one million vehicles by 2027. To scale up effectively, the company needed to a modern technological approach that could help move cars efficiently into mass production while supporting expanding growth and revenue goals.has embraced its role as one of the fastest-rising EV companies in the world. It’s looking to grow its revenue from effectively zero to hundreds of millions and potentially $1 billion by the end of 2023.

To scale up effectively, though, the company needed to embrace a modern technological approach that could help move cars efficiently into mass production while supporting expanding growth and revenue goals.“There is never a ‘good time’ to implement a core IT system,” said Ketan Gohil, chief enterprise architect at Fisker. “However, if you wait to be 100 percent prepared, you’ll be waiting forever.

For Fisker, time was especially of the essence, as the company sought to pivot from being a startup to a big-time industry player. Its previous solutions were all on-premise and didn’t enable the purchasing or component procurement functions necessary for the enterprise.was appealing, as it helped equip Fisker with a standardized approach and best practices for a rapid implementation.

“We were able to get going quickly and avoid customizations and technical debt,” Gohil said. “We wanted to be equipped for the future. We’re ahead of the industry thanks to our business approach, and we needed our technology to be ahead of the game as well.”Due to production commitments with various manufacturing partners, Fisker had limited flexibility in its timeline: Things had to move fast. Otherwise, there would be business consequences.
