Among FTSE 100 constituents, wholesalers company Ferguson PLC FERG, +4.03% saw the largest increase Thursday, as shares climbed 4.03%.
CRH PLC CRH, +2.89%, a building materials/products company, and non-ferrous metals firm Antofagasta PLC ANTO, +2.57% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rose 2.89% and 2.57%, respectively. Shares of water utilities firm United Utilities Group PLC UU, -3.64% and residential building construction company Taylor Wimpey PLC TW, -2.95% dropped 3.64% and 2.95%, respectively.
The pound was up 0.73% against dollar GBPUSD, +0.69% at $1.2224 and 0.01% against the euro GBPEUR, +0.02% at €1.1555.
