Flooding,LS Flooring,Damage

LS Flooring in Sherbourne has suffered extensive damage due to flooding, leaving the owner uncertain about the future of the business.

Owner Lee Steele said: "We've just had the rug completely pulled from underneath us - I have no business come Monday."Mr Steele explained that he went to his business unit in Old Yarn Mills Business Centre on Saturday night as he was worried about the flooding. He said: "When I arrived the water was over my shoes with my ankles and the bottom of my jeans in water.

"Moments later the doors to the unit blew off and I was up to my hips in water - we are definitely the worst hit in the business centre." It is understood the insurance company has deemed the damage an "act of god" which means he will not be able to claim. Mr Steele said: "The unit now is an empty shell, all carpet samples were ruined and taken to the dump."Up to £20,000 worth of work tools and kit have been damaged - which won't salvageable.""The future of our family business is very unclear," he said. "Financially I'm not sure we will be able to get back to where we were as a business."

The unit is now empty with no water or supplies as they were damaged with temporary doors in place to stop future flooding.Remarkable story of 1940s miner's signs still lighting up Soho
