Business groups issued a new joint statement opposing the Albanese government’s industrial relations changes on Wednesday, urging a complete reset.

Crossbench MPs are pushing Industrial Relations Minister Tony Burke for further changes to proposed casual conversion rules included in Labor’swarning an agreement with the hospitality sector isn’t enough to win support for the plan.

“Recent discussion surrounding casual employment is meaningless. No detail has been provided about these so-called concessions,” he said. Teal MP Allegra Spender and says Workplace Relations minister Tony Burke has yet to convince her to support the second tranche of workplace relations legislation.“There is still a lot of work and a long way to go working through the reforms on the table and many more concerns that still need to be addressed.”
