According to research firmthe annual cost of software supply chain attacks on businesses worldwide will rise to $60 billion by 2027, up from $46 billion.Through such attacks, bad actors can hit many targets at once, a main reason why they’ve become a fact of life for organizations.

Cyber resilience ensures your digital operations can defend against cyberattacks across your software supply chain or vulnerable parts of your digital ecosystem. Cyber resilience combines robust protection with persistence to withstand unforeseen challenges, automatically restore systems to healthy and productive states and return your enterprise to normal business operations as quickly as possible.

Regular patching is a drumbeat warning CISOs hear to reduce vulnerabilities. But it’s getting more difficult to keep applications updated. A typical organization may have hundreds of unique configurations of Windows based on different firmware, drivers and updates. A single agent may have dozens of modules or configurations to manage. Add to that another 50 business applications and a dozen security solutions, each with its schedule for updating and patching.

Good cyber resilience goes beyond identifying and mitigating attacks. It's about being prepared for what happens next regarding your operations, workforce, partners and customers. In this regard, traditional tabletop exercises don’t go far enough. They help determine the right steps for responding to cyberattacks—how to find, shut down and fix a problem.
