Could Utah be in the market for a transfer quarterback? Kyle Whittingham gives his take.

Offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig, left, and head coach Kyle Whittingham, center, observe Utah football practice Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

The Utes coach isn’t ruling out adding a quarterback through the transfer portal this summer to give his team more depth behind veteran starter Behind Rising, who is going into his seventh season, Utah has two quarterbacks who haven’t played a snap of college football.Rose is in his third year with the program, but redshirted as a freshman and was injured all of 2023.

“We will have to see what we think is best going forward,” Whittingham said of possibly adding a quarterback. A decision will be made “once we have a chance to look at all the evaluations for the entire spring.”
