A former Boots pharmacy has gone on the market in Sherwood, which could offer an interesting retail opportunity for someone wanting to open a business in the area. The store closed in February 2024 as one of almost 300 pharmacies set to shut this year.
It had been reported that this decision was in an effort to "consolidate" the business, and would leave 1,900 branches across the UK, reduced from 2,200. Despite the pharmacy being permanently closed, there is still Boots signage on the front of the store. The premises in Sherwood has a large ground floor spanning 532 square metres. There is a wide variety of businesses already in the area, including the nearby Co-op, TheGym, Pudding Pantry and RakkiRakkas.
According to the FHP listing the annual rent is expected to be £65,000, and in addition to the ground floor area there is also space on the first and second floor. The unit falls within the Class E use, which means it can be used for a variety of purposes, such as being a health centre, retail shop, office or cafe.
