Matt was a student when he started his business from his bedroom. Years later he found himself delivering T-shirts to Buckingham Palace

The year was 1999, the World Wide Web was still young and Manchester student Matt Mavir had suffered a sports injury. The 22-year-old had lots of time on his hands when he decided to create a website offering tips and pranks for best men planning stag dos.

At one point, the student was making £3,000 profit a week while still juggling his universities studies.

Originally from Cumbria, Matt moved his office into a room back home and employed a childhood school friend as his first member of staff. But as business continued to boom, he moved his base over to Newcastle, seeing his workforce grow to the 30-strong team it is today. The boss says Manchester has become one of its top destinations, with thousands of brides and grooms to be choosing the city as their pre-wedding party.
