We are looking for valuations of transportation and logistics companies

This week we are looking at valuations for transportation and logistics companies. These companies move us and our goods across the country and around the world. Our search includes companies that deliver by air, rail, water and ground as well as the logistics companies they work with.We used StockCalc’s screener to select the top 10 transportation and logistics companies listed by market capitalization, on the TSX.

An adjusted book value is calculated by multiplying book value-per-share by its 10-year average price-to-book ratio.is a fundamental valuation platform with tools to calculate and report on value-per-share for thousands of public companies listed on major North American stock exchanges. StockCalc also contains numerous tools to understand what the stocks you are investing in are worth.

Fuel represents a large percentage of the expenses these companies deal with. Air Canada’s most recent financial statements show $1.25-billion in fuel expenses, which amounts to 24 per cent of total revenue generated for the quarter. These companies also have large work forces and have been experiencing wage and inflationary pressures over the last two years.
