DOTHAN, Ala. - “She’s always been a great kid about not asking,” said Millie’s father Steve Davis. “She always wants to do something.”“When she wanted to start competing in karate tournaments, she needed some gear,” said Steve. “Instead of coming and asking for money to buy it, she decided she wanted to earn some money.”
Putting their heads together, the Davis family had an idea. The idea to make tote bags to help Millie with karate costs.“We had some older sewing machines that were given to us,” said Steve. “I decided to get on YouTube and breakout these antique sewing machines and figure out how to use them.”The Davis Family only had fabric for four totes and in just one night, they sold 13 totes. It wasn’t just about earning some cash.
“It was a way to teach her a useful skill and teach her some business basics,” said Steve. “I’m so impressed with her work ethic. She’s been a big help on some long hours.”“It’s been really great to spend time with wife and daughter,” said Steve. “You only get one chance to raise your kids. I want to get it right.”Totes Millie on Facebookand receive the latest local news and weather straight to your email every morning.
