Dangote and nine other companies are set to start exporting Nigerian products to five countries across East, Central, and North Africa with the Federal Government's launch of the Guided Trade Initiative to benefit from the $50 billion African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“These trailblazing businesses have made history by taking this bold step and they set a precedent for others to follow. Their success is our success; their journey is our journey,” he said, Tinubu added that the platform would open new markets for Nigerian products, enhance competitiveness, and create jobs, noting that the institutional and legal framework will be strengthened to help achieve the implementation objectives.

The National Coordinator of AfCFTA, Olusegun Awolowo, emphasised that the agreement leverages Africa’s vast resources to deepen industrialisation, engage the youthful population, and facilitate inclusive economic growth.
