The case of an Electoral Commission official charged with contravention of the Electoral Act in KwaZulu-Natal has been postponed, pending a decision by the senior public prosecutor after the defence submitted documents relating to the case.
Musawenkosi Mnikathi , who was an IEC area manager in uMsunduzi during the May 29 general elections, appeared briefly in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court.Representing the IEC in the matter, Advocate Ashleigh Jennings says, “What happened today is that representation has been given to the senior public prosecutor. We are waiting for those outcomes. The matter has been adjourned to the 13th of August. That is all we can say because the matter was in front of court today.
