: The recent sponsorship from a liquor company to a Chinese school in Sepang, Selangor, was intended for a charity concert, not for school funds, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said this to reporters after presenting the summary of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development retreat programme, at a hotel here today. This angered several parties, including UMNO Youth chief, Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, who called for an investigation, and supported the Ministry of Education’s move to ban donations to schools derived from gambling, cigarettes, drugs, and alcohol.
