Six people were arrested after a third night of rioting in Belfast

A Belfast estate agent said he has been left "shocked and scared" after his premises was rammed by a car and has been targeted twice in a week.

Six people have been arrested after a third night of rioting in Belfast, which spread to the north of the city on Tuesday evening. Three people arrested after the most recent disorder are teenagers. He said: "I got a phone call about quarter to 8 this evening by a member of staff, who had got a phone call to say there had been an attack at our office on the Woodvale Road. That a car had been driven into the side of the building.

Mr McDowell told BBC News NI that claims circulating on social media claiming his business is providing homes for asylum seekers are "one hundred percent totally untrue." He explained that he requires tenants to have locally-based guarantors and references from other people who are residents of Northern Ireland before they can rent a property.

On Wednesday morning, PSNI Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Melanie Jones said: "We dealt with a report of a hijacking in the Fingal Street area of west Belfast at around 8.45pm, followed by a report that a car was deliberately driven at a business in the Woodvale Road area, causing damage to the shutters. The suspects made off from the scene.
