Eating Out In Nottingham

The restaurant has been closed all week

Staff at Annie's Burger Shack claim they have been left in limbo after the Nottingham restaurant failed to open this week. Workers said they confronted bosses a couple of weeks ago when they saw the burger joint, in Broadway, listed on letting sites.

One employee said: "Then they stopped ordering beer and stopped ordering as much food as before. We were starting to run out of beer and food and they cut down on the days of the week. They used to be open seven days a week and they started closing Monday and Tuesdays."It's not been open at all this week. On Tuesday they said the kitchen is going to be closed on Wednesday and Thursday now. They said there were kitchen issues but we're not aware of any issues with anything.

Around 20 chefs and front of house staff work at the restaurant and the pub in the basement, called Ocean State Tavern. The property is listed with an annual rent of £65,000. Another wrote: "Really disappointed as it was such a good restaurant three years ago, really busy, lovely atmosphere, cocktail offers etc and service was great. None of that anymore."
