A Celtic bar in the east end of the city has hit the market after its owners announced they were stepping away last year after 23 years on the taps.
Located close to Celtic Park, the business attracts passing trade on matchdays from supporters as well as locals. The advert reads: "Fully refurbished in 2024. It is a traditional public bar & lounge and features attractive frontage/exterior and modern decor throughout. The Tavern was previously run by the Gallagher family, who announced they were stepping away from the business, in May last year after 23 years. Writing on Facebook, they said: "Well this one may be the hardest post we've ever had to write but we do it from the bottom of our hearts. Today marks the final day of The Gallaghers running the best wee pub in Parkhead and where do you start when it comes to summing up 23 absolutely amazing years.
"Secondly from the staff we want to say the biggest thank you to Mr & Mrs G. It is very difficult to sum up just how amazing these 2 bosses are but they are by far the best bosses to grace this earth and we are all so grateful for all they have done for us over the years. I know I speak for all the staff when we say it has been an absolute pleasure to work for you and your generosity has not gone unnoticed.
