British carmaker Lotus has confirmed that it will be cutting 200 jobs in the United Kingdom following a prior round of redundancies in July 2023 and January this year, reported

“The latest proposed organisational changes at Lotus Cars are to ensure that the company has the right organisation structure in place to ensure sustainable operations. Following a review of resources in line with market demand and evolving market conditions, the company is optimising its internal processes and structures to achieve its long-term business objectives,” Lotus said in a statement to the publication.

Lotus says that there are “up to 200 UK-based jobs to be impacted”, though the carmaker plans to support redeployment of affected staff and to “look for ways to retain specific skills and knowledge within the business,” reported, and the British carmaker says it remains committed to delivering customer cars and fulfilling its order book.

Despite the departure of Lotus Advanced Performance executive director Simon Lane, Lotus says it continues to be committed to the all-electric, quad-motor 2,000 PS/1,700 Nmelectric sports car in 2026, with a sales launch to follow in 2027, according to the report.
