An exciting opportunity has become available within the energy industry, for a Graduate / Junior Data Analyst. The position is based in Bellville.The purpose of the Analyst is to process, analyze and report on energy and technical data to deliver reporting services for Sustainability. The Analyst is expected to use existing tools and models for this reporting, as well as assist in the development of new tools. It would be advantageous to have a degree in engineering or a data analytics field.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or similar discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, statistics etc.).Interest and skill in BI visualizations and aesthetic design of technical data.Attention to detail with high level of accuracy and quality assurance.Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel. Experience with large datasets, data cleaning, aggregation, and the automation of repetitive data processing pipelines using software tools.Experience with using software for data processing (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB).Understanding of electrical concepts and drawings.Support the Utilities Management Program reporting and analysis for a client/s, including Using existing Power BI, Excel, Big Query and other tools for data cleaning, report generation and analysisAd-hoc analysis across a broad range of data and topics (e.g., energy and water profiles, billing and tariffs, baselines and benchmarks, temperatures, intensities, budgeting, estimating and forecasting consumptions/costs etc.) with guidance from senior analysts Support the development and maintenance of our software Platform with guidance from senior analysts, includingSelf-learning and research into platform and sustainability topics (e.g., load shedding, water scarcity, new BI functionalities, ESG standards etc.)Work closely with other Data Analysts and Developer
