Commission’s evidence leader Advocate Paul Pretorius on Tuesday morning when he appears for a second day.
In his testimony last year, former government spokesperson Themba Maseko told the commission that Zuma asked him to spend millions of rands of government’s advertising on the Gupta’s now-defunct media company. During his morning testimony on Monday, Zuma outlined a grand conspiracy dating back to 1991, involving foreign and local spies who have allegedly plotted to unseat him. He claims that some of the spies wanted to kill him.In his testimony, Maseko said Zuma asked him to help the Guptas and that he told him to direct the government’s R600 million advertising budget to the family’s newspaper and television channel – a claim Zuma refuted.
