Darren McCarty, former Red Wings hockey player, has four Stanley Cup championships under his belt and has set his sights on his next goal: starting his own cannabis company. McCarty has partnered with Pincanna, a medical marijuana cultivation and processing facility in Pinconning, Michigan.
McCarty plans to launch his own line of cannabis products, ranging from dried cannabis flower and CBD topical rubs, to infused gummies and candy bars. McCarty hopes the venture will help him win his next cup, the Cannabis Cup, a competition accessing the quality of different cannabis products. “I’m a four-time Stanley Cup winner, they’re [Pincanna] a 45-time Cannabis Cup winner. Looking forward, McCarty is excited for the added perks of owning a cannabis company, like coming up with those fun strain names.
