Spacebit has seemingly come from nowhere to potentially earn what would be a noteworthy first. The company was founded in 2015 initially as aventure but moved into developing hardware with help from the sale of another company from Tanasyuk in his home of Ukraine, called MoneXy. As to what Spacebit will be doing on the Moon on Peregrine Mission One, the company is keeping that very close to its chest. “It’s science and data, but it’s also commercial space,” says Tanasyuk. “We believe we can become one of the few commercial companies to actually earn money.”
