SINGAPORE shares resumed trading in negative territory on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index losing 0.31 per cent, or 9.96 points to 3,229.26 as at 1.02pm.

Losers outnumbered gainers 179 to 147, after about 882 million shares worth S$463.3 million changed hands. Among the most heavily traded by volume, Rex International gained 3.1 per cent, or 0.6 Singapore cent to 19.9 cents, with 49.3 million shares traded, after the company posted that it iswith a Q3 profit of US$582,000 versus a loss of US$1.6 million for the year-ago period.
