MJets Air Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of MMAG Aviation Consortium Sdn Bhd (MAC) under MMAG Holdings Berhad (MMAG), has acquired its seventh aircraft, a Boeing B737-400SF Converted Freighter from JPA No.161 Co., Ltd. According to a statement, this acquisition marks a significant success in MJets Air's plan to expand its fleet to 13 aircraft by the end of 2025, strengthening its position as a major player in the regional air cargo market.
Woo Kam Weng, Chairman of MJets Air, said that this acquisition signifies a crucial step forward in MJets Air's mission to lead the regional air cargo market and solidify its role as a primary 'feeder' operator. «With a target of 13 aircraft by the end of 2025, this expansion addresses the significant demand for air cargo services that has exceeded our current capacity. «Due to limited aircraft availability, we have been unable to accept new bookings or 'charter', making this acquisition essential to meet the growing customer demand, enhance service reliability, and deliver greater value to our stakeholders», he said. Currently, MJets Air operates six leased aircraft, which have played a vital role in fulfilling the surging market demand. Notably, this seventh aircraft marks the company's first owned freighter, indicating a strategic shift towards ownership to improve cost control, operational flexibility, and long-term growth. «This strategic move is driven by the encouraging demand for air cargo services, which has exceeded expectations and far surpassed MJets Air's current capacity»,
