RuQuan Brown, 17, a high school football captain and advocate against gun violence from Washington, DC, has landed offers from 25 universities, including Ivy League schools and full-ride scholarships. The offers and attention come in the wake of tragedy.

RuQuan Brown, 17, received offers from Harvard, Yale, Princeton and others to play football after becoming the captain of his football team, leading them to multiple championships all while starting his own company. Many of the offers came as coach recommendations and "likely" letters to play the game on full scholarship. The college offers and attention come in the wake of tragedy.

" taught me football, about being a man, and respect, family and so many other things," Brown told CNN."My dad was my role model, my hero, my big brother, every role that you could imagine a dad should play, he was that."When Brown's stepfather was fatally shot on October 26, 2018, the killing changed his life, he said. "When this happened, I knew that I had to start something to end gun violence," Brown said.

Nice way to propagandize with a headline. He is a football player on a championship team who has been offered FOOTBALL scholarships. He is also a civic minded young man who runs a company aimed at reducing violence.

Remove RepAdamSchiff and SpeakerPelosi

Congrats!

Good on ya young man...

Fortunately Capitalism will make him for far in life! THANK GOD FOR CAPITALISM... AND DONALD TRUMP TOO.

Very interesting,good.....

CONGRATULATIONS 🙏🏼

He is what a winner looks like....not the over privileged kids from the Varsity Blues scandal, not the children of DJT, no this young man who is dedicated to serving the communities and scoring on the football field and the classroom

Maybe at one of those universities he will take a civics class and understand what inalienable and Shall not be Infringed means. But I doubt it

Don't even wanna know about the tragic part-just celebrate the victory.

Glad he's doing well for himself but is it a slow news day or what?
