Kristy McSweeny Principal at PR Counsel says activists urging students to protest Australia’s coal industry need to remember the 178 billion dollars’ worth of exports “keeps this country afloat”.

School Strike for Climate Australia released a brochure claiming climate change is fuelled by mining and burning of coal which is enabled by the Australian government, whilst urging children to spread these words to family

and friends. Ms McSweeney told Sky News the government “has a responsibility to keep the economy afloat and the lights on” and the 178 billion dollars’ worth of exports in commodities “keeps this country afloat”. Image: Getty

margmopp Ignorance and youth strongly correlate and emotionally charged “issues” make it a heady mix. Simplistic demands feature heavily. They’ll grow and most will learn things are somewhat more complex.

Total bollocks - enough with the lies

30 years of inaction on climatechange has left us reliant on coal and the taxes. Fact is there are morejobs now in sustainable power than in fossilfuels

This little girl who drew on her arms probably doesn't even know what Adani is.. Her teacher told her it needs to be stopped and thats as far as she researched..

I hope Kristy got a lump of coal for Christmas

Mining companies are 85% foreign owned, the mining tax axed so they dig up our valuable minerals for free, send most of the profits overseas and we pay them $29 billion in taxpayer subsidies to do it. 38,000 jobs in the industry. That's about $750,000 per job. Nice little scam.

ByrnePip I think we should revive the term ‘capitalist lackey’. A term that certainly fits McSweeney.

That says a lot about how this LNP government keeps the country afloat! No wonder Scummo is off to India & Japan to do more revenue raising. He’s excited to be getting the hell out of the country. Illegitimate Prime minister.

myfibonacci Sky News - do NOT watch if you want truth. honesty, balance and decent responsible news.

BREAKING NEWS: Spin doctor spins.

Her qualifications are in PR and politics and we should listen to her because......... ?

Screw the coal industry and all of the corrupt politicians they have bought off. Young Australians keep fighting for your future & ignore the corrupt corporate Murdoch media. Zero emissions ClimateChangeIsReal

Sky News always gets the best experts on to discuss topics. Kristy is a qualified expert in... *Checks notes* Speaking air-headed bullshit.

Kirsty who?

The future for Australia? A massive hole surrounded by a cloud of toxic gas and smoke. No drinkable water, crops and livestock dying due to drought.

And I hope we'll all enjoy eating that money when the climate has been so ruined there'll be no possible food production for those students and successive generations.

McSweeny ever heard of alternative energies that can create new jobs, new technologies and cleaner environment that can benefit more people.

One day a country (not us) will be making ten times that in exports for renewable technologies. It could have been us but it won’t be. Out idiots will be standing their like beggars offering coal that no one will want. That’s the legacy of her short term PR thinking.

What’s the point of keeping our country ‘afloat’ when our sea levels are rising and our country is burning down and baking into extinction!!!!

ThisIsNotJournalism scumbag dogs

Most goes off shore to foreign investors and what with tax evasion not much for Australians

As many have said, Sky News, where truth goes to die!

It will also sink it with fire catastrophes, extended droughts, extended heatwaves, rising temperatures and vicious cyclones and will probably need all that $178B to fix up the mess that it causes. We are told to take poison being coal so as to keep the economy afloat.

Oh no, Krusty is wrong

F.O

LNP paid advocate for fossil fuels says fossil fuels OK. auspol

or burnt, is another way of looking at it.

No it doesn't !!

What absolute rubbish. The industry relies on the plunder of all the nations water to everyone’s detriment.

davidbewart Except they don't. Nor did she mention the huge subsidies the coal industry gets.

She’s right, you know

The water this mine will use is a far more precious resource to this country considering humans can't survive without it.

That’s the problem. The coal industry will literally drown us

Where did they get that figure from and why does it exceed even global export values?

So... shouldn’t kids be at least protesting about the fact that the ‘grownups’ have let their country be so indebted to an industry that is outdated and destroying their home? Seems to me that ‘the kids’ have substantially more to protest about than feel grateful for...🤔

auspol How about mentioning the billions the taxpayer (PAYE and 'real' small businesses) gives to keep this so called profitable industry competitive. Anyone would think you're pumping out propaganda on behalf of a corrupt government.

How about a breakdown on where all of those billions actually end up? TrickleDownMyArse

imbalaska More Youthful INSANITY

ByrnePip How much do they get in government subsidies? Funny how that amount diminishes significantly if you deduct that sum.

Note to venal fossil fool shills and your paymasters: the Stone Age didn’t end because we ran out of stones... The ClimateEmergency demands a JustTransition away from coal, gas and oil. Are you part of the solution or part of the problem? 🤔auspol

We just prefer oxygen to foreign companies taking our money. P.s if we wanted mining to actually contribute to our country, we’d nationalise it.

Ok bootlickers.

pejovud Students of what? Lunacy? They know absolutely nothing.

And where does it go? Hospitals? Schools? Political donations?

Not really, mining 6% GDP. Services 61% or GDP. And A PR executive!! Aka someone paid to say something dodgy by someone who does not want to say it themselves. Mmmm ‘does not compute’

Nothing like putting all your eggs in one basket and planning for the future eh Kirsty?

Oh cool I'll tell that to what's left of the Arctic ice

This is how the modern school teaching system works. Bet they don’t even know how to make a sandwich or replace a door handle.

Does she also remind people that most of that money went into the pockets of billionaires?

Correction: Thermal coal (the kind burned in power stations & which could be phased out for renewables), generates ~$20B pa in company revenues. Income tax paid in Aust by some companies (eg Glencore) is almost nil. The actual royalties paid to state govts is ~$1.5B pa.

Then obviously the time has come for us to diversify our economy.

Sure let’s talk about the billions of $$$’s your clients won’t make if coal is left in the ground and not about the trillions of $$$$$’s it’ll cost our economy if we keep digging that 💩 up! 🤨

pejovud I'm seeing an awful lot of white privilege in that picture.

Who is she? Why Is her voice relevant?

Oh yeah. How many coal companies do Aussies own then...By the way I for one don' t believe anything that comes out of Sky so called news.

It’s called a democracy go back to North Korea if you want no free press and government propaganda.I know LNP model themselves on Nth Korea though.

Todays kids are not stupid, they know that change is happening whether we acknowlege it or not. So why not try and control it a little. We may all have to make small changes, Im ok with that.

A more credible media outlet, re coal : SingletonArgus

C'mon Sky news, tell us how much they get in subsidies - it will be good for you to actually say it. And how much do they pay in tax, in return? Do they pay for the medical costs of those with lung problems?

Teachers pushing kids towards their political agenda need to be fired. Teach the curriculum & perform better in outcomes comparisons with other nations. THEN we can discuss if you have time to fill kids heads with your personal opinions.

Kristy, have you been living under a little black rock?

The Prune blethering away again ... ?

Coal companies pay no tax in Australia

A lie. They pay no tax here.

It's an interesting argument. You could use it to defend an arsenic mine. And technically, that's exactly what they're doing. The money is good now, but the industry is going to kill us in the end.

Hold the front page! Some shill who has been grifting for the LNP for decades thinks people shouldn't protest fossil fuel! Good to see Sky digging out the real hard news.

Ok, to be fair, if you mention the 178 billion, please also refer to the damage caused by climate change. Makes your 178 billion look like a really shit deal.

One wonders how any country manages to survive without gobloads of resources. Clearly it’s impossible.

Are you aware that if Australia were to use its own lithium mines to make its own batteries for the World we would not miss 178 billion dollars. We have enough material and expert scientists to flood the World with our new batteries.

Who

The move away from coal will be hard for the Australian economy. But it will be much much harder on Australians the longer we wait, as we'll need to make a drastic change in a shorter amount of time. If we'd kept Gillard's ETS we'd already be half a decade into the transition...

Why don't they pay any tax on all that income?

Yes, but only because this most incompetent of govts has destroyed our manufacturing base, leaving us with nothing BUT commodities. Nevertheless, those Commodities that are destroying the planet could be replaced by others, including hydrogen. MurdochSychophants

Bullshit. Try factoring in the cost of the damage done by Climate Change, the $1100 a yr per person subsidy we give them and the result is negative. The costs of coal far out weigh the short term benefits.

It's time to phase out coal mining and coal fired power. We can't afford any more global warming.

PR person lies. Shock! Horror!

You are correct, so the sooner we start mapping out an alternative future the easier will be the transition. The coal price says it all. China will turn away from coal & when it does the it will be quick. We need leaders who can chart a course that minimises the disruption.

How many coal companies actually pay any tax

Could we just subsidise renewables equally then? R&D amd sell the tech? Manufacture something again?

Considering only 15% of all GDP is even spent on anything other than the military, we could afford to reduce that aspect of our spending and summarily reduce these coal exports, after all, none of us are too keen on war (other than psychos like Trump and his minions).

Yes, that nailed it! Money or a habitable planet. Nice work.

Why do we need to make wealth from doing harm? Do you lack vision for us to be world leaders and contribute positively and earn our way ethically?

Really? Where does that money go, because they don't pay tax? To the big corporate multinatiinals, or Clive and Gina? Plus the government pays them subsidies. Add in the lost water and agriculture land and it costs us at least that. Then the CO2 emmissions for bushfires...

In other news, dickhead right wing talking heads look to reopening Wittenoom, rolling back tobacco industry restrictions and reintroducing CFC permissions.

Sky News. Pulling the Australian public’s bum cheeks apart while the fossil fuel industry sodomises us.

And the beauty of coal is, of course, that you can eat it. Good for the teeth, and helps ypu have those dark poos that are just so......

What’s the point when it is contributing to our collapse. Get absolutely fucked.

We've had 30 years to transition our economy and the brain geniuses running the country and big business decided it was easier to rent seek and keep subsidising digging up shit and making a small number of people, mostly overseas, a lot of money. That is not the kids fault.

That’s $178Bn without gautam_adani then?

There is something wrong with this country if we need coal to keep us afloat

No they don’t. They are allowed to make a choice. It’s their future too.

she’s not really ‘counsel’ tho is she, the person you’re citing. Just another coal person.

Patently false . Cayman Islands, no tax , time Labor got truthful

Coal industry must market that coal is not as dirty as others. Its all a matter of perspectives.

“Coal exports Keeps the country AFLOAT”? Extremely poor choice of words Kristy McSweeney. 👀 the country is in drought & on 🔥 & Sydney 💧 storage is almost gone. The biggest contributor: Coal This one 🔽 is for you. The students are already ahead of the game on this one.

If the true cost of externalities of coal production were factored it would be seen as a drain on us and the planet.

Our Tourism industry is worth $44 Billion - why is that valued less than coal ? KristyMcSweeny ClimateEmergency

So mining coal is the only economically useful thing that 25 million Australians can find to do in a world stifling from CO2? Somehow I doubt that...

That number is made up. Kristy lives in fantasy land.

afloat with what? forest fires?

Will someone for the love of god remind these kids that we can’t do anything about climate change because we are profiting off it.

Um how much of the 178 billion actually goes in our coffers?

Kristy lies through her perfect teeth.

Kept not keeps. So what for when these guys near retirement and there's no coal power exports?

Can't eat coal, can't drink poisoned water, can't breath toxic air. Simple.

Partisan bullshit

And of that $178b how much do we actually get to keep? Oh yeah - $31b if we’re lucky - so basically $147b went bye bye 👋 - they employ 132,000 people out of 24.5m residents but yeah let’s be thankful when earth looks like mars ....

Is that 'afloat' or on fire? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Kristy can shut her gob and bugger off. Go kids!

Coal exports may be worth 178bn today but what happens to the economy if the demand or drops thru the floor? Why wait and react when it puts 1000s out of work like recent car and steel closures? Why not train all the 'lazy millenials' you all complain about, in future industries?

The child activists probably have better mathematical skills than Prue

Report news

Can someone tell Kirsty McSweeny no one believes what shes been paid to say ClimateEmergency ThisIsNotJournalism

Why don’t teachers teach kids how they financially exist, obviously some parents can’t...😏😏😏🤔🐰

We need to start moving away from a dependence on fossil fuels, that’s obvious. With our knowledge, a little willingness and some resolve it can be done. Whilst we have apologists for the FF industry trying to help keep up their ridiculous profits we won’t get anywhere.

Sydney 2030 looks incredible - thanks ScottyfromMarketing!

We're sinking economically and morally. You never win by prioritising profit over what is the right thing to do. Let's add up the costs of inaction. Fires, droughts, floods, hurricanes, heatwaves, unseasonal snow storms - all more severe and frequent.

Demonstrably false. Coal exports are around $47b, with at least $25b in subsidies, and are not charged for environmental damage caused, plus GDP by sector Services: 61.1% Construction: 8.1% Mining: 6.9% Manufacturing: 6.0% Agriculture: 2.2% auspol

Think of all the subsidies that go into mining? Now if that $ went into research & development of renewables, science etc. we would be a rich progressive country.

Nope, far from what keeps the country afloat.

Ok kids, the choice is to help billionaires get richer or... save the earth. Think carefully now.

They're not known for their ability in mathematics....or anything else.

bullshit

Kristy from the PR counsel has a long history of corporate shilling. Good on her, but we owe her nothing. Our very future is at stake here. Other countries are managing to transition to renewables without this drama. auspol ClimateAction

Might keep Gina and mates afloat but how much tax do they pay? Let’s ask Barnaby’s higher authority.

Ok so where is that $178b?

Sorry SkyNews where are the protests that are wanting to shut down the entire industry tomorrow? The protests I’ve seen are against *new* coal mines - not the entire mining industry. It’s about a justtransition not an immediate halt to the industry

Actually it's the water table that keeps Australia afloat and the idiots are hell bent on destroying that.

There's no economy on a dead planet.

macsween_prue The coal industry also helps pay the welfare for them to go to uni, and supports their lefty mates that have never held a job. Come to think of it yes, close down the coal industry and the welfare it supports.

The Dora the Explorer activists don’t understand the value of money. Mummy and daddy clothe and feed them.True of the Left in general, academic gender professors are at least partly funded by tax payers. Literally flushing money down the toilet would be more useful to Aus society

This erases the agency of these young people. They are not being ‘used’ by anybody but are leading.

Kristy is full of shit....much like

Can't eat or drink coal f🤬ckhead🤦🏻‍♀️

Pretty cool that an industry can generate $178b in export revenue but not have to pay to cover the wider costs associated with that good... very cool

If Australia leaves its resources in the ground and stops supply to our neighbours how long before they decide to aggressively just come & take it from us?

Minus the subsidies, minus the cost to the planet in increased firestorms, floods, cyclones etc etc = $0. It will cost $Billions to renew our environment and living standards after these firestorms auspol MSM

What a load of CRAP. CoalIndustry does NOT 'keep this country afloat'. Coal industry largely owned by foreign Corps hat pay virtually zero tax, pathetically low royalties given profits extracted & leaves massive clean-up bill. Lets move to get rid of it auspol ClimateCrisis

If our economy is that dependent on what is increasingly certain to be a stranded asset, it reflects extremely poorly on the policies of our government and the complacency of our business community.

nothing that generates revenue has ever been bad

They’re kids, they just have t grown up yet

Murdoch must be close to dropping into hell.

Just drove into Tumut. Fire nearby. I want coal shutdown and people held to account for what's being done to us and everyone else on this planet. F**k em

😂 or we could transition those to lithium mining and battery production. But we won’t.

Mining exports account for 5% of our GDP (exc gas) & coal a little over half of that. We can reduce coal & prepare for the future without hurting the economic bottom line & set us up for the future. Outlandish comments like this make PR council look foolish & divisive

A renewables idea anyone.....anyone

And any profits need to be subtracted since the mining companies are mostly owned by foreign shareholders and pay tiny amounts of tax.

swannnyco

BS fake news. Billions and billions of tax payer subsidies to keep the dying coal industry afloat more like it. ausecon ausbiz auspol kristymcsweeney

If that's the case, it's not doing a very good job.

Some PR hot shot: 'Actually your future is a small sacrifice for all this cash money *cash register noise* *cash register noise*'

Very soon Australia will start sinking, or to put it another way, the sea will start rising and it will seem that we are sinking. And why? In part the burning of fossil fuels...and the LNP coalition is the cheerleader.

Keeping us afloat on what exactly...certainly not water.

You are owned by rupertmurdoch the number one climate change denier in the world. You have zero credibility. People are now saying his legacy may be worse than Hitler’s.

I asked my grandchildren, who's mother is a simgle mum, where their mum gets her money from. (Trying to educate them about taxes and governments). 'The bank', was their reply. Most children know nothing about how the economy works.

chrissmithonair TheCalebBond they realise that without an environment for them to live in that the economy won’t matter one bit.

That's bull$hit - McSweeny should remember coal is killing the living on the planet

Commodities include wheat, wool, iron ore ... things literally nobody is suggesting Australia stop exporting.

The neither care about anyone or anything, so stupid, caught up in their own spin, wankers 100%

pretty soon the islands in the pacific will need to float to exist. this is a pretty hollow argument from a PR expert

Sky.....in the gutter rotting

Well if someone from a PR firm has said it, there must be no alternative

How much did the car industry used to bring in?

And how much tax does the coal industry actually pay?

Plenty of other commodities lumped in with coal here 🤔

We're wasting time reading this shit !!!....just BoycottMurdochMedia 🙏

Oh, I thought it was our moral obligation to the people in poor countries! Or so I heard.

A note to those working in the fake news media: Murdoch will be dead soon. Think about your own futures!

Jesus, these people want to keep mining after Australia is rendered completely uninhabitable. Coal is killing this country and this planet and should be made illegal.

But that’s 178 billion profits. But basically no taxes paid. And every Australian pays about $1200 of their taxes as subsidies to the mining industry. So we are actually keeping the offshore multinational companies afloat, not the other way around.

Only an unconscionable Murdoch news org would substitute our kids for the historical canaries in the coal mines. Their own children's futures are being sacrificed for a fixed fossil fuel dependent ideology. The lack of imagination for a low carbon economy is truly extraordinary.

Such a shame that they were born into a species with no ingenuity or ability to imagine alternatives and problem-solve. Oh, hang on...

Changes are coming to that commodities export market that the NRA-like coal lobby can’t control. Their current behaviour means the industry will crash rather than transition. Time every other industry who writes a donation cheque realised they are getting fried to protect coal.

IF these companies paid a fair amount of tax and didn't receive subsidies perhaps, but that money doesn't go into anything except profits... What's the point? aupol skylies

Oh purleez...Kristy...there is no economy if there is no planet!

“The under the table payments to coalition politicians keeps their elitist lives afloat”

When we have storm surges and the sea level rises, we'll know just how much it costs to be afloat. Maybe we can pay the bill with coal.

But there is not $178 Billion dollars of coal exports.

Exactly. Perhaps if they lose their transport, mobiles, laptops, air conditioning, clothes, food, houses....they may understand how integral coal is to our economy. They have no idea. Little products of propaganda.

But where does that money go? The companies that dig it up pay little tax here and we pay subsidies to them.

🖕

Child activists are really just childish activists as are a lot of adult activists.

Child activists are really just childish activists.

That would be a terrible argument even if these companies paid tax. But they don’t, so…

If money is the reason we're killing the only currently known planet we can live on, then maybe it's time we found a way to live without money

Thank you for supporting Australia’s great job creating industries like coal and whaling. Nothing keeps the lights on like blubber.

All Sky news is, is extreme right wing IPA propaganda. There’s no truth or reality here at sky news.

At this rate this country will sink through rising waters caused by climate change. But hey whatever fills your boomer coffers.

If so why do we subsidies all these miners? And how much tax are they paying?

Renewables are the future. Look at south Australia where the solar farms are doing so well that they’ve had to turn them down at times. You wouldn’t report on that though would you. Got to keep australia stuck in the past- at least long enough before it’s all burnt down anyway.

Hey kiddies ever tried glueing you're lips & eyelids together it's a sure way to get huge media attention !

National tax-based subsidies that encourage fossil fuel production and consumption add up to a whopping $12 billion every year. auspol

these activist anti-socials are getting a dream, 'rails run'...when will the pushback come?

The poorest educated generation to date. The more I hear their cry the less I think of their plight. They’ve no idea how spoiled they are. Give up your mobiles, PCs, TVs, makeup, any form of transport - then maybe you’ll get some attention.

So if you’re all so smart what do you propose to replace the revenue from coal by When you can put creditable solutions up the may be more people might listen but making a lot of noise won’t fix anything Are you prepared to become third world socialists

These tools wouldn’t understand where the money comes from, their to brainwashed

A lot of ppl believe that jobs and money are THE most important...and yes they are important- but more important than life?

Every tonne of coal dug up results in 2.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. We can't afford to be contributing that to global warming. We are one of the countries most affected by the ClimateEmergency

Plus all that corporate tax 😂

Well we certainly will be floating at some time on the future if we do t attend to the climate crisis. What a silly, short sighted man.

Really waste of time they doing this as they need to wait until they leave school and get a job and see what they feel is more important at that time. Now they can say whatever they like as their parents cover cost for them.

Those black marker pens, the clothes they wear, how they travel to protest...The dear little things lack intelligence. That is all.

Let's FACT Check they lying Scum at Murdoch Media...

Know what else would help keep this country afloat? People like Murdoch paying their taxes.

Whilst coal and mining suck the country dry and don’t reinvest anything into infrastructure science education or the community... they just send it offshore to tax havens and shareholders abroad.

Exactly, child being the keyword. They have no idea and their left wing teachers and screeches enforce their poor understanding of how things really work in life.wouldnt they scream if they could not charge there mobile devices, turn on the aircon or thelights or refrigerator

Need to remember the zero dollars tax payed and the billions in subsidies. And the dozens of corrupt politicians that would put their life on the line to protect the industry.

InVinoV95022209

And adults who are hellbent on destroying the planet that these kids will inherit need to know we see they are acting for their vested interests.

Not just finance. It is supply chain source for all end products we all use, including their renewable infrastructures. Wind turbines don't run without lubricants; solar relies on rare earths; power grids rely on metal conductors. Even ancient Egypt had international supply chain

Kids are being taught the wrong message. Their brains are undeveloped. They have no idea how the world really ticks because haven’t experienced life. Great to have opinions and to argue differences of opinion, but their ignorance leads to a distortion in their views of this world

Ignorance among our young is a disaster. No one teaches common sense anymore. At that age they 'already know it all'.

Keeps the country afloat? 3.5% of gdp, and about 40k employees of the 6 million workforce (0.6%). Yeah right. Whatever your opinion, Adani the company shouldn't be running any mines here.

According to this, Australia's total exports are $243b and coal about $47bn. Is Kristy misinformed or just lying?

We need intelligent discussions on transition from coal to renewable energy, or we won't have a country to 'keep afloat'

They also need to understand that our current coal fired power plants aren't set for replacement for another 20 - 30 years, and that running costs are significantly less than renewables for exisiting plants; but when up for rebuild, renewables will be cheaper. Hang in their kids.

Afloat? Companies like Whitehaven Coal have paid virtually no income tax on billions in profit over the last 5 yrs....they pay royalties which Adani will have concessions on, plus they will be using precious water so please explain what they are contributing to Aus?

Do better, Sky News, for all our sakes! A good start will be stopping picking on kids. This was never their idea - they are simply conveying the best advice of people who actually do know what is happening. You should try it, too.

Interesting phrasing.. $178 billion worth of exports, not Australia gets $178 billion from the export of coal. Australia’s cut from the coal industry is relatively minuscule, most of the money goes. To the mining oligarchs.. and just to be clear FUCK THEM.

Queenstown

But is a dwindling as the years go on as more countries turning to renewables.

Climate change catastrophes will kill billions - but I guess that's all good if we can make a few quick bucks before then...

Thing is, these kids aren't just trying to rehash exploits of the 20th century. Let's have a little more imagination about what we can achieve without cycling prehistoric carbon up into our world.

Why are you suddenly quoting these people and why are their opinions ny more valuable than the rest of us who completely disagree? auspol AUSTRALIANBUSHFIRES

Kids will say, let's replace it with something else. The oldies have been too lazy to work on replacements. What use is a ruined planet ?

These young fools will be our leaders in the future. Now that’s scary

Sky News needs to remember inaction is going to burn our country. I lost $12,000 in income because of the climatechange driven NSWfires. The cost of inaction is more expensive than lost exports.

“Kristy McSweeny Principal at PR Counsel” - it is in the NAME of her company. She is a lying, shallow, mercenary SPIN doctor. If you pay enough she will say anything “strategically”. And we know who all that money is keeping afloat, and it’s not the kids.

Sure we're ripping out all the Submarine's air filters and selling them as paper hats, but those sales keep the economy of the sub going!

Oh great reporting thoroughly researched....can I ask to you get your info from Ruperts Rants volume 1 or 2

That’s no excuse not to transition away from coal as a major export. All we need to do is innovate. If we could focus on invention and make other countries pay us for the rights to use those inventions, the problem would be solved.

Let them protest it makes no difference. Theu don't even implement solutions to their own problems

178 billion keeps them healthy, roof over their heads and food on their table.

Coal is a major contributor to a rapid mass probs there hey.

then this country is without imagination, and done

And? It's destroying the environment and leading cause of climate change

And that's why we need the pm to step up and start funding research into clean energy. Reduce coal and maintain economic stability. Scumo isn't up to to the challenge.

And the shocking theft of our water, which keeps our country alive. And the subsidies for multi million dollar businesses which often don't pay tax. And corruption, which robes ordinary Australians of a better life.

Fortunately, many of these kids will start paying tax at some point. Once they do, they’ll change their minds, and the more tax they pay, the more pro-coal they’ll become.

... and burning that same coal will sink it. Thankyou.

Australia may be the largest exporter but it is no where near the largest producer. Whilst climate activists may feel good at trying to stop Australian coal exports it will have negligible effect on climate change. Activists ignore mentioning 50% are coking coal exports. Why?
