Africa growing

The more reason to give SMEs breathing space, they are the engine of our economy retaining all their profits in the country.

theholstarmusic No jobs

We don't have a choice . There are no jobs

yeah it could be based on unemployment and bad governance...... From my own point of view it has become a lifestyle where a father could be a government or private worker in a good company while the wife owns a shop either big or small... The main focus is not staying idle

Surprised Kenya is not in this list.

Meaningless stat with no insight. These are mainly the unemployed doing whatever they can to scrape a few dollars together in poor countries. Will street vendors, casual labour, informal taxi driver with no bank account, tax number etc. Nigeria and Zambia .. not places to live.

Nkothololoo, KhandaniM Come over this side....we have a small business ministry which was tasked to address this.....l am dissapointed. SMMES are globally known to reduce unemployment. .....l am saddened by this stats

It could just be that there are less opportunities in those countries so more people accept that they need to get out and do it for themselves.

These statistics are never static because new businesses are springing up while existing businesses are falling off. The aforementioned is especially true in some parts of Africa where infrastructures are at the transitioning stage.
