The fire, which was said to have started around 12am as a result of power surge, razed 11 buildings and destroyed property worth millions of naira.Traders and residents of the area blamed the slow response of firefighters for the massive loss of property.
He said, “This is rather a very unfortunate incident; nobody ever imagined this amount of destruction could happen in this market. We will start a full investigation into the remote causes of this fire incident so that we can plan in future on how to forestall incidents like this.
