A slew of major corporations is making lofty promises about climate change. And it's not just a case of a few outliers: More and more companies are disclosing their carbon emissions.

"People talk a lot about compensation, of course, and the work culture," he says,"but I think this is a whole new segment."

He says it helps to frame climate action as an accounting problem, based on quantifying exactly how much companies emit and how much they'll need to cut. Of course, setting a carbon budget is one thing. Sticking to it is another. Some climate announcements in the past – like BP's previous rebranding as"Beyond Petroleum" — have been more PR push than actual shift in strategy, and advocates agree that follow-through and accountability will be essential if these new ambitious targets are to have an impact.

A natural disaster doesn’t know someone’s net worth, and all the money in the world wouldn’t save you from one. When the shit hits the fan it’s gonna take us all. It like they say every man finds God in a foxhole! They’ll believe when it comes for us all. But it’ll be too late!

The truth about Trump. [Biden2020][Sanders2020][Warren2020][Buttigieg2020]

It is a fight they will never win because they have no idea what measures will be effective or even that humans can reverse, stop or even slow it.

That may be one reason. Or it may be a better president pushing these companies to have realistic targets that benefit the environment. Let's not push billions of dollars to foreign countries to play like they care, let's get our own country to act as they care.

NPR uses taxpayer money to disseminate propaganda slanted to favor the Democrats. DefundNPR

oh wait, and without government intervention?! who would have thought?!

inskeep spending a whole segment on Bloomberg and N Carlina that went basically nowhere. Yet, there is a voice of reason, a smart, intelligent candidate - Amy Klobuchar - who gets zero time. Everyone is all consumed with the black/white endorsements

It’s called virtue signaling

They'll show one card but not the rest of their hand. Never trust what seems like an act of good faith from corporations.

Bullshit! You don't even know who I am ore what you throw the game for anymore.

Good, will give the other corporations who don’t have imbeciles for leaders an easier chance for success against their competitors. Tip - buy stock in the corporations that are not trying to reduce their carbon emissions.

slew... is... Yeah, I guess that's correct but it just sounds like it shouldn't be.

But are they verifiable? Or just advertising?

So the dirtiest companies in America want me to fear warm winters rather than the chemicals they dump in the water. Business as usual.
