BANGKOK: Working conditions in Thailand’s fishing and seafood industry are showing improvement but abuses such as forced labour still persists, the UN's International Labour Organisation (ILO) said in a report.

The 61-page report released on Tuesday compared findings from a similar report two years ago about the state of Thailand's fishing and seafood industry.

"Despite the positive trends, abuses in the fishing and seafood sector persist, including serious ones such as involuntary work and coercion leading to forced labour," it said.
