This is modern slave labor and another example of the failures of the American criminal justice system. Powerful words by Martin Luther King Jr that a lot of people in the U.S claim to live by. However, when it comes to criminal justice reform, those words seem to ring hollow. I spent the better part of my career in British and US politics working for former Prime Ministers David Cameron and Tony Blair, and current UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
