Army veteran David Hill says cannabis helped ease his post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and is now pushing for better access to the drug for other veterans.

Key points:

When he was discharged he deteriorated further as he withdrew from the medication, but medicinal cannabis helped Now in retirement, he's still hunting cannabis suppliers. But this time, it's as a customer on behalf of his son, David — an army veteran of two tours of Afghanistan who uses it to treat post-traumatic stress disorder ."It took me 22 years in the police force, and 20 years since, to learn that cannabis is a medicine."

His turning point came when David — who was suffering terribly with PTSD — left a psychiatric ward after being treated with massive doses of benzodiazepines."The benzodiazepines were not a positive impact on my life whatsoever," David said.

Mmmm? Son David, sincere thanks for your service digger, all the very very best to you. Max, how many lives did your work ..ck? Are you now on police pension? You took an oath. Maybe you should hand back any pension.

Mmmm ? Did your work ..ck how many other people's lives. And you got paid for it and had a great ole time doing it. Now retired on decent money? How much hypocrisy here? All sympathy to your son.

ummm there's alcohol and of course legal medications a doctor would prescribe...I have PTSD and use the correct things, your son likes weed?

He should be twice as accountable, after putting people in prison for the same thing.

oh excellent, run the risk of paranoia and psychosis on top of PTSD, smart move Dad

Recreational use shouldn't be illegal either. Nor should the use, posession or growth of any natural medicine, such as psilocybin. GTFOML

Time to legalise cannabis. Boost to the economy, have the same rules as booze. No driving, public smoking, under 18 not allowed. Surely it can be done

So hypocritical

Interesting how that works,.... It's a crime worth ripping families apart when he's being paid to. But when it's something he wants, it's no longer do bad. It reminds me of watching cops rack lines when they do their drug sweep of a club on the weekends.
