Several MBPJ health department staff were seen at the market at 11.15am Sunday giving orders to workers to wash the wet market area behind the food court.
MBPJ corporate communications assistant director Ahmad Iskandar Mohamed Mukhtar confirmed that the market was closed to the public as it needed to be cleaned and disinfected. According to a Facebook post by Bandar Utama assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin, her office had received a report of a trader who had tested positive for Covid-19.
She added that the other traders had been advised to undergo a Covid-19 test at the nearest hospital. "Our office has not received any further information on the matter as it is still under investigation by the Health Ministry," she said.
