CCP resident companies stop all live performances; migrate online as COVID-19 crisis persists

MANILA -- Inihayag ng chairman ng Cultural Center of the Philippines na si Margie Moran na magma-migrate muna sa online ang mga palabas ng CCP.

“It’s for free. It will soon be a pay-for-a-digital-performance in a couple of months. We just did 'Alice and Friends.' The next is 'Rama Hari' on May 2 for one week,” ani Margie. Pero susubukan ng CCP na ibalik ang original live performances sa Hunyo, pero online pa rin. “The first experimental one we will have is Virgin Labfest,” aniya.

"Yes, we share the same concerns. All artists and cultural workers are are affected. There will be no season this year for resident companies. They will have to be able to innovate by using new platforms in performance. CCP does not have the budget for dole outs. We are starting with Virgin Labfest as a production that will be livestreamed and the production staff and actors will be paid. We are planning other activities to protect the livelihood of artists,” aniya.
