Elizabeth Warren and House Small Business Chairwoman Nydia Velázquez , SBA Inspector General Hannibal "Mike" Ware said his office has already initiated dozens of investigations involving complaints of fraud.
Lawmakers and law enforcement agencies are ratcheting up scrutiny over hundreds of billions of dollars that Congress has tried to disburse to struggling small businesses in recent weeks to help avert economic collapse. He said the report was in response to a separate congressional inquiry from Sens. Chuck Schumer , Ben Cardin and Sherrod Brown .
