In the first phase of closures, set to take place this summer, it will close at least 132 stores. The off-price home goods retailer listed the addresses of these locations in court filings on Wednesday, saying that they are expected to begin closing on June 1. Tuesday Morning said in a court filing that the locations were selected because they were underperforming or located too close to another store in its portfolio.

The retailer still needs bankruptcy court approval to begin closing sales, and locations could be added or removed from the list. announcing its bankruptcy, Tuesday Morning CEO Steve Becker specifically mentioned the COVID-19 pandemic as contributiong to the business' struggles. Tuesday Morning temporarily closed all of its locations and furloughed most of its 9,000 employees in March.
