CEOs from 27 major Canadian companies wrote an open letter Thursday asking for a 'measured' reopening of the skies that would see travel resume across all provinces and between select countries, though none were identified.

Paul Pottinger, professor of infectious diseases at the University of Washington's School of Medicine, says big business should follow the lead of Health Canada and the World Health Organization, which has highlighted a surge of infections in parts of the U.S. and China due to more relaxed lockdown rules.

CEOs from 27 major Canadian companies wrote an open letter Thursday asking for a "measured" reopening of the skies that would see travel resume across all provinces and between select countries, though none were identified.Passengers on international flights must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival in Canada and interprovincial travel is banned in Manitoba and the Maritimes and discouraged elsewhere.

While Canada has extended its U.S. border shutdown until July 21, many European countries including France and Germany are reopening their borders to fellow European travellers Transport Canada requires passengers to wear masks on all flights, and temperature checks will soon be obligatory for all international passengers as well as those flying within the country, with screening stations to be set up at 15 airports by September.

Unexpected surges have occurred in remote communities such as La Loche, Sask., and the Campbellton region of New Brunswick. A fresh outbreak in Beijing has prompted a second set of partial lockdowns as schools were closed and hundreds of thousands of residents deemed at risk were barred from leaving the city.

"And I would wear a baseball cap to protect from droplets falling down to your eyes," where receptors can potentially pick up the virus, he said.

The same 'health experts' that have been wrong time and tie again from the beginning?

No such thing as health experts..

You can't swing a dead cat at CTV news without hitting some kind of expert. As far as experts go they're usually wrong.

now health experts are not only controlling lives, business, sports now the airlines. what the hell. who put them in charge its time for every business to sue.

“Health experts” who wanna keep the country shut down. Do they get that no one is forcing anyone to travel if they don’t want to? Are these the same “experts” that have trusted the WHO which is clearly favouring China only? Dear “experts”....🖕

Well those big businesses need to wait!! Travel is the least thing to worry about right now. So those airline’s need to relax. Travel within your country no problem. Otherwise all borders should be closed and 14 day quarantine needs to stay. Don’t like? Find another job!!!

Included with the price of ticket is a good chance you contract a highly infectious virus.... Seating option For a guaranteed Contraction of virus is available for a additional fee.

No No No!!! Do not do this until Quebec and Ontario gets their sh_t together. It's too soon!!! JustinTrudeau

Get on board and fly! Get this economy up and going again!

When you say Health experts I think of the weather man there never right...! And we have to pay for there mistakes and pay for their salary ...🤬

My understanding as an armchair epidemiologist is that transmission is most likely in an enclosed space with recycled air like a plane. Not only is that a high risk situation, you'd have people going from potential hot spots bringing the virus with them to vulnerable communities.

Every time the MSM uses the term 'experts', I'm sceptical.

CEOs are worried that Canadians will wake up and realize that they are grossly over paid!

Find a cure first then worry about your big corporation. Before airplanes we used boats.

And these 27 CEOs can all fuckoff

Keep border close at least 2 years. See what our neighbor usa did. Keep Canadians safe

Suck it up airlines you’ve had years of profits.

It's about time they spoke up.
