A growing list of companies say they'll join an advertiser boycott on Facebook in protest of what they say are the site's failures to stop the spread of hate. Here's what we know about the companies that have joined the boycott.

The candy company announced Friday it is joining the boycott, even after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg took to a public livestream on Friday to meet the public backlash.

In addition to joining the monthlong pause in July from Facebook advertising, the company said it will "cut our spending on Facebook and their platforms, including Instagram, by a third for the remainder of the year." "We do not believe that Facebook is effectively managing violent and divisive speech on their platform," the company said. "Despite repeated assertions by Facebook to take action, we have not seen meaningful change. Earlier this month we communicated to Facebook that we were unhappy with their stance on hate speech. ... We are hopeful that Facebook will take action and make it a safe space for our consumers to communicate and gather.

It is the second brand owned by VF Corp. to sign onto the #StopHateForProfit campaign, a week after The North Face also announced it would pull ads from Facebook and Instagram."JanSport will stop advertising on @Facebook & @instagram for the month of July and join the fight for stricter policies that keep racist, violent & hateful content from proliferating on these platforms."

You can say the “N” word but can’t call them white trash for using that word. They gave me a 21 day suspension, and now I’m on a 30 day suspension for explaining why I received a 21 day suspension.

Mark is publicly boohooing over his $7billion loss in ad revenue. Poor thing.

That is the only was to slow this company.

They should be boycotting trump not face book hes causing all the mess

I say boycott any companies who don’t believe in free speech .yes and boycott all of them that don’t allow free speech and any perspective that is not radical left.

“Hate policies” aka people that are weak mentally. The world is full of them

We need to be careful about what some consider to be ‘hate’ and others consider to be something they don’t like. Not liking something is a lot different then hate. People should be able to have an opinion as long as it doesn’t directly hurt someone else.

How about the list of companies who don't support Crimes Against Humanity. Do you have that one ready yet?

Are you gonna give us the list of companies who don't support terrorism too?

Cool. How about a list of the companies who are not boycotting Facebook? You know, the one who are going along with it? The ones that keep quiet or who don't speak against Facebook themselves. Know any of those , CBCCanada or globalnews ?😃..wait, are you in that list?

Facebook has a policy of hate? Or is it some people are so mentally weak they need censorship?

everyone should be boycotting facebook, and any other platform that does not uphold free speech and a non manipulated trending. The future of the internet will be P2P, encrypted, decentralised, and unstoppable. I can not wait for these centralised companies to die off :)

We shall start a list of companies no longer investing in China! BoycottChina BoycottChineseProducts

There are many people who categorize any other opinions as being 'hate speech'. They want to shut down opposing points of view. They are afraid of free speech.

More CNN trash

They should better use their name to have commercials or posts showing the truth or working against the hate out there
