Premier Daniel Andrews announced the drastic move at a press conference on Monday morning, after confirming an increase of 127 cases overnight, and one death. Andrews said the enforcement of the border closure would be handled by New South Wales, due to so as not to be "a drain on resources" on the fight against the virus in Victoria.
"Today and tomorrow is the last time in which any Victorians will be allowed across the border unless they have a special permit or some exemption," she said.
