'Over my lifetime, being shut out of the high-paying jobs offered to my white peers has left me hundreds of thousands of dollars behind'

In the fall of 1989, I applied to nine of the top 10 law schools in the country, as well as No. 20, my safety school. I was accepted into nine of these schools and waitlisted at Harvard. I chose the University of Michigan Law School, as I was already an undergraduate on the campus. It was ranked third.

The interviewer would smile when he saw me and shake my hand. After a few pleasantries, he would ask about my GPA. Then he would repeat the "one Black attorney" statistic and shrug, as if it were out of his hands. He would give me a look that said,Being denied the financial opportunities of my white peers

Here are the numbers: I secured a grant of $2,000 my first summer and a job that paid $500 a week my second summer. Over two years, my income was $8,000 working in criminal law, while white students with corporate internships had earned $36,000.

God stop with this fucking nonsense

This never stopped Asians or Hispanics. Maybe thinking they are entitled doesnt work so well.

Yawn... tired of these fake stories of underperforming people blaming their lack of success on race. Cool story bro.

Imagine your life as a farmer. Poverty wages. Highest suicide rate of any occupation. Utter dominance of your industry by monopolies from seeds to equipment to finance to markets. $50k in retirement savings is a fortune most Americans would have a hard time imagining

Offered to your white peers..lol. I have a white friend that went to the NBA and he felt the same way!
